BPE - Northern Ireland

Aug 12...Ireland... It just sounds so mystical... Even more so than Scotland... And even when it has had so much "development" in the last few years it still keeps its mystical atmosphere, its secrets, and the kindness of its people...

We arrived to Belfast by ferry and the next day we went around for a walk around the small city center... It was really quiet and not really knowing what we should see, we just headed to the riverfront, and had fun with the sculptures, fountains, and buildings. We then headed to the market, and after buying organic couscous, beans, and some vegetables (in UK and in all Europe you can find organic food pretty much everywhere, and it costs almost the same as non-organic food... :D), we went back to the hostel to prepare our lunch, before heading out to the north of Ireland...

Even when we thought it wouldn't be easy, we tried our luck inside the city, and we didn't need to wait long before a guy stopped and gave us a lift for 40 minutes to a roundabout where the road to the north started. There we didn't wait more than 10 minutes before Ian picked us up, and took us all the way to the entrance of Giant's Causeway, our destination. It was his first time picking someone up, and when he called his brother and his wife (who were waiting for him) he was really happy to tell them he was with two hitchhikers from Colombia... And then telling us they were kind of shocked when he told them... :p

Giant's Causeway has an amazing geographical features, and landscapes, it really seems to have been done by Giants, but that is just how great nature is...
There was a lot of people there so we just dropped our bags next to the entrance of the information center, (and after that two other backpackers left their bags next to ours... :p) and we went to walk around for an hour...

After having walked around we started going west, walking by the road, and just when we were looking at some nice cows next to the road, a car stopped and gave us a lift. It was Alan, a really nice guy, really funny, and who looked liked and talked like the actor who played Pippin in LotR... :p we actually search for the last name but they are not relatives... jiji :)

after some more lifts we decided to make our tent behind some trees next to the road and these sheep who looked at us as if we were two strange creatures carrying our house in our backs... (and who had disappear by the time we wake up next morning :s)
